These Are The 15 Most Kawaii Cat Cafes In The World
5. London, United Kingdom – Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium

A new lady in the, uh.. court? As cat-lady-crazy the name sounds, it is probably a very classy and meaningful one. Boasting a large cat-sized hamster wheel for cats, Lady Dinah’s opened on 1 March 2014. It is the first and highly anticipated cat café that is finally open in London. Sometimes when I think of black or grey cats, I think of cats kept by witches (thanks to Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton stories). So naturally, I thought London has got to be second in place (the first being Japan) when it comes to this cat fandom.

Anyway, Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium rescued their resident felines and could only come into fruition because of all the hard work and effort the owner, Lauren Pears had put in. She started raising funds from a crowdfunding site and it was a great success! However, many compare this cat café to its Japanese counterparts (silly humans, Japan is the godfather of all cat cafés). But many Londoners are very excited about Lady Dinah’s and well, it’s hard to blame them! Visit their website here!
6. Paris, France – Le Café des Chats
Pronounced luh-cafe-deh-shahs (you pronounced that with the French accent in your head, didn’t you?), it is the first cat café to open in France; Paris, the City of Love. It was expected anyway, seeing that Parisians are just as graceful, elusive, and proud (not in a terrible way) like cats. Equally elegant and delicately designed decor to create a very Parisian coffee house with cats. 12 friendly rescued cats to make your macaroons taste sweet enough for your Earl Grey.

Also, they do their part for making the feline community a little better by contributing “pension” monthly, according to its official website. Though they have a slightly more whimsical interior design (than what we all reallly think), they serve what looks like the best Parisian artisanal pastries.

7. Vienna, Austria – Cafe Neko

As it name immediately suggests, it is a cat café. But this is not in Japan. Cafe Neko is the first cat café to open in Vienna, Austria! Why is it not named in German? Because the owner is a fellow Japanese woman called, Takako Ishimitsu. She battled with what most of all cat cafés had to face: hygiene issues with the authority. But after a lot of convincing (3 years!), Cafe Neko is born!

Lounge with their five darling resident cats and sip some delicious coffee. All their cats are also, like all other cat cafés, rescued and adopted by Takako-san. A safe and warm haven for all katze! Danke!
8. Munich, Germany – Cafe Katzentempel

Located in the heart of Germany, Munich, in a smaller city called Schwabing is this temple for cats. It is Germany’s first katzencafe! Also, at a temple, they only serve vegan food – but that’s because they fully support animal rights and so they do not believe in eating meat. And yes, all their six katze are adopted and they are all absolutely domesticated. Or maybe we are the domesticated ones…

Right. After looking at the above picture, and after attempting to understand why cats love boxes/bags/containers. And fail. Visit their website, which has some write-ups of four of their cats! Then maybe you might be one step closer to cat enlightenment.
