“Hi, I’m Romina from Switzerland. I’m a fashion designer doing an internship in Germany. I love Japan and everything about clothes including cosplay, fashion and so on 😉 I’m also addicted to swords. I’m doing a korean sword art and that’s why I love to cosplay characters with swords. To see more of my works have a look at my homepage (www.aliceroco.ch) or my deviant profile (RomaiLee).”

More about Romina
1. At what age did you start cosplaying and how long have you been cosplaying?
I started cosplaying before I even knew about the word cosplay 😉 I think it was in 2003.
2. What inspired you to start cosplaying?
At that time I was a huge fan of Lord of the Rings and I wanted to imitate a character of the film. So I began to sew my first cosplay.
3. What are some difficulties you met in your cosplaying?
For a long time I was never able to style or arrange my hair/wig properly. I just hated any hair XD In my country it’s often very hard to find the proper materials/accessories for a cosplay. So I need to search a long time or spend a lot of money for it.
4. What is your most memorable cosplay and why?
I love my cosplays form the Anime Hakouki. They were not very difficult to made but it was exiting to put together a group of five people and let them wear my cosplays. I made them only for the purpose to do a performance on a contest and we even won 1th place (^^) It was really great to see five people together with the same uniform of the Shinsengumi, I love them so much!
5. What is your next cosplay project?
I would like to finish all characters of the Shinsengumi (Hakuouki) and also I’m planning to do a Sebastian (Kuroshitusji) Cosplay together with a friend as Ciel. An someday I really want Switzerland to be part of the WCS!
6. Tell us about some memorable experiences in your costume or prop making.
The most difficult cosplay I ever made, is the Guard of Gondor (LotR). I read about a technique with foam rubber to make an armour. I took a lot of time to harden it and even so with too much heat like that of the sun or body heat it became flexible again (^^”)
7. What are some advice you would like to give to cosplay newbies?
If you start cosplaying then do it properly not just with a wig or some ears. Just put your heart into it that’s all that counts 😉
