1. At what age did you start cosplaying and how long have you been cosplaying?

I started cosplaying at the age of 12. But I only did it seriously from 14. Counting only the years where cosplay was serious business for me, it has been almost 5 years.

2. What inspired you to start cosplaying?

Since I was little, I always loved  costumes. (I guess that part came from my mother, hahaha) When I was little and I saw Anime in the TV, I’ve always wanted to be like one of my favorite characters, to dress like them and to act like them.

3. Which is your most difficult cosplay / most memorable cosplay and why?

My most difficult cosplay as Will Of Abyss from Pandora Hearts. He had many odd shapes and many pieces of clothing.

My Nia cosplay costume had so many accessories it was hard to perform in it. There were many gems, and I thought I could never finish making it!

I really am a person who is very hysterical when sewing, but I also enjoy.

4. What is your next cosplay project?

I am currently doing a Nia Wedding Dress Cosplay Costume, from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. I made the design myself. And the next cosplay is :Siesta 45 from Umineko No Naku Koro ni.

5. Tell us about some memorable experiences while cosplaying.

I perfectly remember the day I cosplayed as Sora, from Kingdom Hearts II. A young child asked me ‘How many heartless you killed already?’. Other children told me ‘Sora, I want to go with you! Take me with you!’ These kids thought I was the real Sora and they told me so many things … The experience was really memorable one, very sweet. I am very sensitive person, and these children’s response to my cosplay touched my heart.

I also remember when I cosplayed as Alice, from Alice in Wonderland. On the way to the event, young kids who were with their mothers called out, ‘It’s Alice!” and they pointed me with enthusiasm and excitement. It’s really beautiful that these things happen when you put on your cosplay.

6. What are some advice you would like to give to cosplay newbies?

I wanna say: never give up while making a costume until it is finished. You must start with a low level, and as you advance, you must raise the level. Little by little, step by step.
You should never begin with a very high level costume as things will not go well and you may become depressed and even abandon the project.

You should always cosplay the characters that you like.

If you make mistakes, don’t get depressed. Just learn from them. Nobody is born knowing everything.

You should always do cosplay for yourself and have fun. If people criticize you, ignore them. If the criticism is constructive, you listen carefully and learn new things for next time.

And above all, never give up and always move forward.

Enjoy this hobby!
